Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a specialised therapy that uses gentle, rhythmic pumping movements to move the skin in the direction of lymph flow. This stimulates the lymphatic vessels, which carry substances essential to the immune system and remove waste products.
Your first visit
The first session includes a consultation, during which your therapist will recommend how many sessions you need, how often and how long each one should be.
Benefits and uses
- Improves lymphatic flow by opening up functioning lymph collectors.
- Used to treat conditions such as lymphoedema, lipoedema, post-operative swelling and chronic venous insufficiency.
- Helps reduce inflammation in fat cells.
- Particularly helpful during pregnancy and for people with reduced mobility, reducing swelling, improving circulation and promoting relaxation.
- Highly recommended during recovery from combined cosmetic procedures, such as breast augmentation (mammoplasty) and tummy tuck (abdominoplasty).
At RoMe Physio Clinic we also use pressotherapy as a complementary treatment to enhance the results.
