Sitting for long stretches is hard on the body, but small, regular movement breaks make a real difference. Get up every 30 minutes for a short walk, some light housework, or a trip up and down the stairs, and try to fit in one more structured session of activity each day, whether that’s a brisk walk, yoga, or weight training.
A few simple stretches also help: a chest opener, a leg stretch, a seated stretch, and a wall press for posture, held for 20 to 60 seconds each.
